課程概述 |
一.內容綱要:
本課程介紹光電子學中有關的數學方法, 物理觀念及元件概念, 重點放在由馬克斯威爾方程式推得的光波及電磁場現象, 並討論適合於光波波長範圍內的近似理論, 同時兼為簡介積體光學和纖維光學之發展與應用。討論主題如下:
1. Overview of integrated optics and fiber optics
2. Maxwell`s equations and reflection and refraction of plane waves
3. Scattering matrix formalism and its application to mirror and interferometer
problems
4. The paraxial wave equation and Hermite-Gaussians
5. Optical waveguides: dielectric guiding layers and optical fibers
6. The coupled-mode theory (state-of-the-art treatment) and its application to
(1) Optical wave couplers
(2) Distributed feedback structures
(3) Acousto-optic modulators
(4) Semiconductor diode laser arrays
7. Wave propagation in anisotropic media and electro-optic modulators
8. Introduction to some nonlinear systems.
